The fiesta consisted of booths with learning activities, a film on Mexican backgrounds, art displays and music.

First grade teachers are Alicia Burbaquis, Mrs. Dorothy Caraway, Mrs. Anita Gutierrez and Olga Ramirez. Assisting them with the Fiesta Day were Mrs. Connie Herrera and Mrs.

Alicia Rios, teacher aide. AT THE HEAD Start-Kindergarten program at Woodson Elementary, Mrs. Bobby Turk and Mrs. Louise Martin's kindergarten classes also celebrated with a Fiesta Day. Their activities included a Mexican grand parade with students carrying the Mexican and American flags, eating tortillas, demonstrating Mexican dances and breaking a pinata.

He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. O.F. Kirk of Abilene; two sons, Jimmy A. Gary Don, both of Abilene; one granddaughter; his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. J.T. Minor of Coleman. Cousins will be pallbearers. Archie Lawrence Archie A.

Lawrence, 78, of 1458 Bridge was dead on arrival at 6:32 p.m. Thursday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

The Rev. Dick Richards, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church, will officiate. Mr. Lawrence was born Jan. 20, 1894, in East Texas.

A retired carpenter, he and his present wife came to Abilene from Austin in 1959. He was a member of the Grace Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Elanor; a daughter, Estalene Wyatt of Austin; one stepson, Walter Richter, 109 Tiquewood; one brother, W.L. (Lobey) Lawrence of Mineral Wells: three sisters, Gertrude Hallmark of Odessa, Carrie Jackson of Pecos, and Georgia Helms of Cleburne; and six grandchildren. The family will be at 1458 Bridge.

Mrs. John Mangum Funeral for Mrs. John E. Mangum Sr. of San Antonio, mother of Mrs.

J. D. Tompkins of 2800 Sayles, was held Tuesday in San Antonio. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Survivors are her husband: one son, John E.

Jr. of San Antonio; one daughter of Abilene; one brother, John Criner of Midlothian; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren. Big Country Rochester Youth Dies of Burns ROCHESTER (RN S) Jackie H. Neathery, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Jack Neathry of Rochester, died Wednesday afternoon in the University of Southern California Burns Center in Los Angeles from injuries received in a California motorcycle accident Sept. 5. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Knox City Foursquare Church. Floyd Bailey, pastor, and Kathryn Byrd of Rochester will officiate.

Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home. Ronna Myers, 15, daughter of Mrs. Dera Myers of Rochester, a passenger on the cycle driven by Neathery, remains in critical condition in USC Burns Center. Reports on the accident indicate the cycle driven by Neathery collided with another motorcycle and that Neathery and Miss Nyers were thrown from the cycle, over the top of a car, when the cycle gas tank exploded. Reports also state that restaurant personnel near the scene used portable fire extinguishers to put out the fire on the young couple.

Neathery was a senior at Rochester High School and was a member of the Foursquare Church of Knox City. Survivors are his parents; a brother, Jack of San Pedro, and two sisters, Linda of San Pedro and Carol of Rochester. Pallbearers will be Mike Dulaney, Kenny Woodall, Danny Woodall, Carlos Carmack, Robert Wright and Randy Hines. Charley H. Douglas COLEMAN (RNS) Charley H.

Douglas, 84, who resided in the Chapel of Care Nursing Home in Sherman, died Thursday at 8 a.m. in the nursing home. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Memorial Chapel. Born April 21, 1888, in Talpa, Mr.

Douglas was a longtime resident of Coleman and moved to Sherman a year ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors are one son, Glen of Sherman; a sister, Mrs. Bob Livingston of Coleman; two grandchildren. Fritz Deike WINTERS (RNS) Fritz F.

Deike, 57, of Winters, a farmer and dairyman, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ballinger Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the St. John Lutheran Church.

At 3 p.m., there will be a parade from the Civic Center south on Pine to N.

1st. The parade will turn west on N. 1st to Cypress and then turn north on Cypress and return to the Civic Center. DOLORES VILLALOVOS, 15, the queen chosen by LULAC and Jessica Garcia, the queen chosen by the American GI Forum, will lead the parade into the Civic Center.
